On the Journey back to Wholeness....

It’s been a little over two weeks since our fertility journey came to a surprising halt, and normal life just doesn’t feel quite right. Since everything has stopped we’ve been noticing that marriage and day to day life just isn’t flowing smoothly…like we assumed it would. See, we have been so involved in this crazy fertility journey, that “normal” life/marriage was just that….a fertility journey. We are trying to get adjusted to life without doctors, hormones (extra, that is), schedules, and not spending thousands of dollars a week….and to be honest….I hate it. I thought I hated the journey we just stopped, however, this “new” journey through normalcy, well, for lack of a better word….sucks! I know I sound like a complete brat right now, and most of you probably do not get one word of this post, however, I have to show you the “sucky” part before I can show you what the conclusion has been. My thoughts/Life the past Couple Weeks: (Disclaimer…this is pretty honest people….b...

When God says YES then NO....

The last month has been one of many emotional ups and downs as well as many moments where God has shown His faithfulness in the realist ways possible. However, despite those faithful moments, the Lord has said “No”. November 7th:         I called Dr. Singleton’s office and told them Friday was the first day of my period and we were ready to go towards the process of I.U.I. That morning I went in for blood work and an ultrasound. During the ultrasound they noticed I had at least 30 follicles (premature eggs) on each ovary…which due to PCOS that’s normal, however, on Metformin they expect that number to be a lot lower…for me…not the case. However, because of that they were just going to put me on Letrozole, fertility medicine to help the eggs mature, and not put me on shots just yet. They explained it like this: “in the 11 years we have been established, we have not once had a Jon and Kate plus 8 and we don’t plan on starting with you and Tyler. With that being said you are now High R...

Wait....

I will be posting an update from the last couple months soon. However, Until then...I could not find a better thing to share! May this truly speak to your hearts and may you feel, no matter what your circumstances, that God truly loves you!! Much Love to you all!!! Brit Wait by Russell Kelfer Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried; Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied. I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . . And the Master so gently said, "Wait." "Wait? you say wait?" my indignant reply. "Lord, I need answers, I need to know why! Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard? By faith I have asked, and I'm claiming your Word. "My future and all to which I relate Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to wait? I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign, Or even a 'no' to which I can resign. "You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe, We need but to ask, and we shall receive. And Lord I'v...

Three Weeks of Craziness...

This post is a long time coming...sorry for the delay. The past three weeks have been so crazy...but we are reminded this is our life, so we will roll with the craziness. Three weeks ago.... August 29th Tyler and I had our first appointment with the Reproductive Specialist, Dr. Singleton. When we got to her office, we sat down and she went through a long list of questions for both of us. Then, we got down to business. Dr. Singleton went through all my previous test results from Dr. Huffman and agreed that Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome was probably the cause of me not ovulating. However, she wanted to do ONE more test (which Dr. Huffman did not do) to make sure I truly had PCOS. She said after this test...if it confirmed what she and Dr. Huffman believed to be true she would prescribe Metformin. Metformin is used to treat type two diabetes, however, they also use this drug to treat PCOS. Dr. Singleton describe the difficulties that come with Metformin. Those difficulties ...

Here's to Honesty!

This post might be more honesty than some of you are expecting, but I want to keep this as real as possible so here's to honesty! Today is day 20 of my cycle. I have been religiously taking ovulation test and doing the every other day sex that doctor prescribed, however, I have not ovulated at all. I called my doctor this morning and she is passing me off to Dr.Stephanie Singleton with Georgia Reproductive Specialist of Atlanta. While on the phone with Dr. Huffman she explained to me that going from the 150 mg of clomid I'm currently on up to 200 mg just wasn't necessary and I needed to go see Stephanie. I called immediately and due to a wonderful coincidence (more like God-thing) they had an opening for Monday August 29th at 12:30pm. They want both Tyler and I to be there and we will start what I can only assume is another long list of test that needs to be done and all I can do is cry at just the thought. I'm not some project that if you experiment enou...

Faith with a GIANT serving of Victory!

Yesterday, I received a text from my Dad that simply said: "1 John 5:4 "Victory is in the faith NOT the outcome." When I read my dad's text I paused and started crying. For those of you reading this blog you might think I'm on an emotional roller coaster...and you're right. For others, you totally understand. Anyway, what I realized yesterday through a simple text was that if I have FAITH that God can do a modern day miracle and allow Tyler and I the honor to be parents...We've already won the battle because we are putting our faith in HIM and HIS will. You might be thinking... how the heck have you won by just having faith? Well, it's simple! I truly have faith that the Lord is going to perform a miracle. Now, whether that miracle is the miracle I have in my head, physically carrying Tyler and I's baby, well, that's up to God. However, He does say that I have the victory if I just have some faith. No matter what the outcome of this journey th...

Whatever you Want...I Want.

In having my quiet time today I was reading Luke 1:34-38. The verse that spoke to my heart the most was verse 38, "Mary responded, 'I am the Lord's servant. May everything you have said about me come true'." The Lord literally smacked me in the face and reminded me that Mary had only one question for the angel when she found out she would be carrying the Holy One..."how can this be"...that was it. In trying to put myself in Mary's shoes, I realized that in no way shape or form would I be able to have only ONE question. However, the Lord reminded me that the reason she had only one question was because her attitude and relationship with Him was submissive and trusting. At this point, I burst into tears. I was so convicted! I am NOT that submissive, nor am I able to say I do not question the motives of my Savior, especially in our current journey. However, Mary was so close to the Lord that she simply said "Lord, I am Your handmaid. Whatever You wa...

Year One....

Tyler and I have always had the desire to one day have children...however, we were not prepared for the journey that desire would take us down.  Last September I went back to Knoxville to the gynecologist for my yearly, along with having concerns about being irregular. I have always been irregular, but I was noticing that I was never having a period and this concerned me due to the fact that when we wanted to start trying to have a baby I was irregular therefore not ovulating. My gynecologist said not to worry about it and gave me a prescription for Provera, which is a progesterone pill that induces periods. After doing this for a few months, I decided I needed to find another gynecologist in Georgia for a second opinion.  In our search for a new gynecologist I had several people recommend Dr. K Huffman whose office was less than ten minutes from our home. I called and was put on a wait list for an appointment. I finally got an appointment in February 2011. Tyler and I went t...
