God’s Plan All Along...

TODAY, January 18th, we have been a family of 5 for 6 weeks....and TODAY is also our baby boy’s 12 week birthday!!!! I felt it was fitting to FINALLY share our story of Dax Ivan Griffin.  On September 17th, we lost the baby boy we “thought” God had for us. Since that day we have wrestled a lot. We wrestled with why God would give and take away...and why God called us to grow our family through adoption only to leave us hurt and confused. We had decided to hold off on finishing our paperwork for our adoption agency until the beginning of the new year. We wanted to get through the Holidays and then start the process fresh at the first of the year. However, God had a different plan. With that being said here is our attempt to share “God’s plan all along”.  Thursday, November 29th started like any other day. I woke up late...trying to get the kids dressed and out the door early because, they had school and I was working at the school that day too. We rolled in on two wheels...

One Month of Breathing Differently...

On October 17th, it will be one month since we received a text that changed our world. A text that told us the little boy we were growing in our hearts would no longer be in our arms. It’s been a month of questions, A month of wrestling, a month of tears, a month of silence, a month of wondering why, a month of trying to put pieces back together, a month of heart break, a month of hell on earth, a month of learning to breathe a little differently, a month of surviving, a month of being on our knees because standing was too hard, a month of being stuck, and a month of leaning into a Heavenly Father that right now...takes away. As I sit here in a quiet living room with just my thoughts reflecting over the last 30 days it’s hard to keep typing. Not because I don’t know what To type, but because It still hurts. Don’t get me wrong, we have more good days than bad right now, but the bad still hurts more than I can put into this blog. We think daily of this little baby boy....is he’s ok, is h...

It’s not a dream...It’s our reality.

For the last 6 days I have woke up praying I was in a dream and that last week never happened. However, each day I wake up and realize it is not a dream...it’s our reality. Today marks a week of walking our reality. Today was also supposed to be our last baby shower before our sweet baby boy was to be born. It was supposed to be a day of celebrating what was to come for our family. Our baby boy was to be in our arms this week...Friday the 28th to be exact. However, today we are not celebrating but rather learning to breathe through the tears, shock, and pain that we will not have this baby boy in our arms on Friday. That reality still isn’t one I want to accept but one that I am praying through to accept. From the first day we said yes to this baby boy we knew heartache could come...however, nothing prepares you for that small chance it happens. We were ready and we had peace the entire journey. However, God changed our direction abruptly for a reason we cannot see or understand...and ...

Even If you don’t, Our hope is YOU alone.

Monday (Sept 10th) started like any other day in our house...we woke up...late. Ate breakfast in the car and headed off to school. My parents were in town so when I got home from dropping the kids off my momma and I headed to the outlets to do some baby shopping. Walking into Carters again after years of being away was a dream. All the newborn/ 0-3 month clothes screamed at me. I could have taken every outfit home but settled on a handful and rushed off to meet Tyler at the field. We were heading to meet with our attorney and our birth mother to sign some “pre-birth” paperwork and to make sure everyone understood what each line meant and no questions were left unanswered. Everything was signed and we left with giant smiles on our face. Our little boy was due in two weeks and we were ready! The following days I had tried a couple times to get ahold of our birth mother. However, I got no answers. I didn’t think much of it because she admitted she is horrible at getting back with people. ...

Are we ready, No, are we willing YES!

These last couple of weeks have been super chaotic for our family. We cannot begin to thank everyone enough for the items that were donated for our adoption YardSale we held a couple weeks ago. Thank you everyone who helped and everyone who came to shop! The yard sale was an amazing success! in our previous blog post we stated  we wanted to save $7000 as our first goal before pursuing the next steps in our adoption process. We are  humbled to announce that we have reached that goal and beyond of $7000  due to the unbelievably generous people who donated items for our yard sale as well as money towards our adoption the last couple of weeks. Since our yard sale we have completed our paperwork for the agency that we have decided to go with. We are sending all of the paperwork off this weekend to the agency. Once the agency officially accepts us as their clients we will begin our homestudy and our process of becoming live to any birthmothers looking for homes for their ...

where we are....

One thing we have realized since our very first ever blog post and our last blog post, about adopting, is that it is more difficult to update our blog with two kids, both of us working, and our crazy life. However, there have been a couple new things happen with our adoption process since our last blog post and we wanted to let y’all know. One of them being we have chosen to go with a different agency than previously posted about. We have done a lot of praying and a lot of talking.  As we stated in our last blog post,  we are almost debt free. It is an amazing feeling and we really do not want to accumulate a whole lot more unless it is necessary. With that being said, We have come to the decision that we would like to save AT THE VERY LEAST $7,000 cash just for our adoption. after we get that money, we will apply with this new agency we feel best suites us...their fee is $4,000. After that is complete, our home study will begin. That process is $2,500. Once both those things ...

Wynn Oh When...AGAIN!

Hey y’all! I know I havent updated our blog in years, however, We have huge updates and big prayer requests to ask of everyone.  Over the last several months God has really been working on our heart as a family as well as individually to expand our family. For those of you just joining....we were never really supposed to have a biological family. After lots of test and procedures, Infertility specialist gave us a 2% chance of having children. With those results We decided to go through Two rounds of IUI ( intrauterine insemination). Both of which failed. After two years of infertility treatments we made the decision to take a break, reevaluate, and recharge. A couple months after that Decision we found out that we were pregnant, naturally. Eight months later we welcomed our beautiful daughter Austyn-Claire. After she was born we were told that she would probably be our only miracle baby. However,God had different plans. we found out 4 months after she was born, that we were pr...
